St. Petersburg
African American Heritage Trail

Brief:

Contracted with the City of St. Petersburg, Florida to create a poster system for an inner-city trail.

Deliverables:

Created a brand image and trail markers for the African American Heritage Trail.

Summary:

The City of St. Petersburg, Florida wanted to create a walking tour to pay tribute to the African American history that exists in the area. They needed a poster system for the inner-city trail. I created an initial marker that was approved by the Mayor of St. Petersburg. I worked with the City of St. Petersburg, its contractors, and steering committee through several rounds of approvals. I used colors that correlated with the colors from the local high school to further tie the system to the community. I created a unique and visually appealing trail marker system that highlights the contribution of African Americans, honors that contribution and is efficient in helping visitors follow the trail.
